1. Monetary Donations – Monetary donations are one
of the best ways to help. There are easy ways to raise money
for your local shelter. Have a garage sale and donate the funds,
collect change, put a donation jar on your desk at the office,
recycle coke cans and donate the cash earned,
and there are many more ways! Get Creative!

4. Goodsearch – You can now use the search engine powered by Yahoo! and raise money for PPAWSS at the same time. For every web search, PPAWSS receives approximately one cent. All you have to do is type PPAWSS in the designated charity and click verify. Once verified, you can GoodSearch away!

5. Goodshop – Everyone shops online these days. If you order online through GoodShop.com, PPAWSS will receive a percentage of the sale. They have over 100 stores, selling everything from pet supplies, to clothes, to electronics.

3. Volunteer your time– PPAWSS is always looking for volunteers to help out at events, socialize animals, or even just help file paperwork.

2. Foster – PPAWSS is always looking for foster parents to help save lives.
WE CANNOT CONTINUE TO SAVE LIVES WITHOUT FOSTER HOMES!
We believe that all dogs and cats should receive proper care, exercise, training and attention that they need. All of our animals (big or small) enjoy a home life that they might not have known before us, (like: sleeping in a comfy bed, playing with other pets, daily walks, napping on the sofa...). While in a foster home our dogs are started on, or have mastered being leash trained, crate trained, house trained and basic obedience (sit, lay, stay). PPAWSS provides anything the foster parent may need from a crate to extra toys to bedding or food (if available at the time). Our animals receive one on one work, love and care with their foster parents everyday to help them better adjust to a regular homelife. PPAWSS has the pet spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm tested and started on their monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative before they are placed in their forever home. 8. Have Your Pets Spayed or Neutered– The Humane Society estimates that each year 3-4 million cats and dogs are euthanized in shelters. This number can be greatly reduced just by having your animals fixed. The Hopkins County Animal Protection League and Cause for Paws offer low cost spays/neuters and low cost vaccinations.

11. Don’t Shop, Adopt! – Instead of buying a puppy with an unknown background or disposition, why not adopt? Not only do most of our dogs already come housetrained, leash trained and crate trained, but ALL of our animals are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and started on the monthly heartworm preventative. All vet work is included in the adoption fee.

12. Join our mailing list – The more supporters we have, the more lives we can save. Join our mailing list by e-mailing Feel free to forward the newsletter to everyone in your contact list.

Donate office supplies – PPAWSS would like to put monetary donations towards saving lives, not purchasing office supplies. ANY donation will help us use our money more for the welfare of the animals and cut the overhead costs. If you have used shelves, filing cabinets, staples, computer paper, tape, a half used box of envelopes or even just 2 stamps, please consider donating them.
14. Sponsor Special Needs Pets – It is the mission of PPAWSS
to better the animal welfare in Sulphur Springs. If we receive an
animal with special needs, PPAWSS will exhaust every effort to
help cover any vet bill incurred through their stay.
15. Advertise in the newspaper – If you know of an
upcoming event or a dog or cat looking for their “fur-ever”
home consider placing an ad in local and surrounding areas.
This will help saves money for advertising and help us use the
money received strictly for the animals.
16. Host a Party- Is your child's birthday coming up?
Consider having children bring donations in lieu of presents.
Ask each child bring a dog toy, a collar, leash,
a bag of food or even old blankets.
You could host a party for adults such as a cocktail party
with your friends and have a "cover charge" to get in.
Set up "Tip" jars at the bar.
Donate any fees or donations collected to PPAWSS.
17. Cut Coupons- Cut coupons out of the paper for needed items such as dog food, cat food, treats, cat litter, bleach, cleaning supplies, or any other items you feel we might use.

18. Offer your Professional Services- Whatever your specialty is, consider donating your time. You could offer free legal advice, help balance the books, prepare taxes, clean a foster parent's carpet, or even mow the lawn for a foster parent.
19. Donate Pet Supplies –You can purchase supplies at your local
pet store or collect old blankets, towels, shampoos, etc. around the
house that you no longer need or use. Not sure if we will be able to
use it, just ask! Anything that is not needed or used will be
distributed to a local kill shelter. No donations ever go to waste!
20. Research-We are always looking for new fundraising ideas. Use goodsearch and look up new ideas! Do you know something we might not about a disease, condition, a certain breed, or behavior issue? We are always learning, so help us spend more time with the animals, not in front of the computer.

21. Double isn't Trouble any more- When you buy your pet's favorite treat or food, buy two and donate the extra! When you get your dog groomed, buy a gift certificate for equal value to have a homeless dog cleaned up before an adoption event. When you buy a new leash and collar, buy and extra set and donate. Buy an extra box of heartworm medicine or flea preventative and donate it to PPAWSS.
The list could go on and on!
7. Bring Your Pet to Our Events – PPAWSS hosts several events through the year that involve your furry friends. We host the Fall Festival Pet Show, Pictures with Santa, Howl-O-Ween Costume Contest and a Dog Wash. We are always doing something fun and exciting for you and your "best friend".

22. Save Your Aluminum Cans- PPAWSS is collecting Aluminum Cans!! All money raised from recycling cans will be put into the "YES, PPAWSS CAN!" fund.
This fund will be used to help PPAWSS
purchase a building to host events,
raise money, and house Adoptable Pets!
ECLC Elementary school is saving
